Born in Taiwan, I was actually raised in Lagos, Nigeria. To make
matters more interesting, I also attended a boarding school in the
Alps of Switzerland. Places like Africa and Switzerland does make
you appreciate nature a lot more, and undoubtedly influence what
I do today as a graphic designer.
Of course, attending University of Southern California and Art
Center College of Design had their share of influences as well. But
right now, residing in Los Angeles, California, I feel this is the
ultimate location in terms of graphic design; with so many cultures
mixed within, creativeness is simply unlimited.
I consider myself a cartoonist. I feel being a cartoonist does not
necessary mean that I can only draw cartoons or within boxes. I
am just extremely attracted to graphics that consist of thick outlines
and bright colors, yet, as much as these appeals to me, I humbly
incorporate them into the work that I produce on a daily basis.
